FAQ
Common questions — answered honestly.
General
Which sports is SportsFlow for?
Handball is fully finished and proven in league play. Volleyball, basketball and ice hockey run as early access — if you'd like to use one of those, drop us a line at [email protected] and we'll switch it on for you.
Do players need their own account?
Not for tracking — the coach taps for the whole team. Players only need their own account once they want to look at their own stats. The coach invites them for that; how it works is under Teams.
Can several teams from one club use SportsFlow?
Yes. Every team is independent — its own roster, its own matches, its own subscription. As a coach you can be part of several teams and switch at the top of the bar. For club discounts, write us at [email protected].
Technical
Does tracking work without internet?
Yes. Every entry is saved locally on the device and uploaded automatically once there's a connection again. More on that: Offline mode.
How do I turn off push notifications?
In your profile under Notifications — per team and per category: match prep shared, match reminder, half-time and full-time, tracking reminder, videos, live score. You can also switch them off entirely in your phone's system settings. Details: Notifications.
Can I see the live score on my lock screen?
Yes, in the app: on iPhone as a Live Activity, on Android as an ongoing notification — category Live score. If you track a match afterwards (more than 12 hours after throw-off), there are no throw-off or full-time pushes.
Can two people track the same match at once?
Yes, more than two as well. Split the work — one person tracks the attack, the other the defence, for example. Whatever gets tapped twice counts twice, and you only see the others' entries after reloading. Details: Several devices.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in Germany. What exactly we process and how is in the privacy policy.
Billing
How does billing work?
Per team — cancel monthly, or a season pass for 12 months from purchase (two months free). No fixed date, no pro-rated invoice. Trying it out is free anytime with Starter — and teams starting by 31 Dec 2026 get the Team plan free until 30 Jun 2027 (launch offer).
How do I pay?
Flexibly through our payment provider Stripe — credit card, SEPA direct debit or PayPal. Your payment data sits with Stripe; we don't store card numbers ourselves.
What happens if I cancel?
Your subscription runs until the end of the paid period (end of the month, or end of the 12 months), then you automatically drop back to Starter. Your tracked matches and all your data stay fully intact — only export and the Pro features go away, and analysis shows a bit less depth depending on the plan.
Features
Can I export my data?
Yes. On the match page and in the season analysis there's the Export menu at the top right: Actions as CSV or All matches as CSV (ZIP) for Excel & co., Report as PDF for printing and, on the match page, Share as story for Instagram. On top of that there's the public link per match. CSV, PDF and link are part of the paid plans. All the details: Sharing & export.
Is there video analysis?
Yes, on the Pro plan: upload match video and sync it — then every tracked action jumps to the right spot in the video with one click. In the video studio you cut scenes, tag them and draw freeze frames, with Present you show them in a video session, and through the preparation you share them. What the terms mean: Glossary.
Can match data be imported from the federation?
Yes — via schedule import: schedule, results and half-time scores (with handball.net sources also ticker events and matchday roster) you pull in from public sources with one click. Other federations or sports: tell us what you use — Support.
Can I observe an opponent without video?
Yes. You capture an observation live in the hall on your phone or tablet — throw by throw, with no clock and no score, offline too. A YouTube link runs alongside while recording from Pro on, but it's view-only: the throw gets no timestamp. Observations are available from the Team plan on.
How reliable is a shooter profile?
The sample-size badge on every card tells you: under 5 throws "too few", 5–19 "early trend", 20 and up "trend". The top-3 sentences (favourite corner, 7m corner, shot type) only appear from 4 throws with at least 60% share, and from 3 for 7m throws. Goals from the match-report import count as goals but don't feed into any rate. More under Reading a shooter profile.
My opponent uses SportsFlow too — can we connect?
Yes, by pairing the match: on the match page under ⋯ → Pair with opponent, one side shows a QR code or a 6-character code (valid for 30 minutes, single use), the other scans or types it in. After that each side only tracks its own attack, and your shots arrive with the opponent as opponent shots — and the other way round. Works on every plan, with the Admin or Tracking permission; observations can't be paired.
Does the opponent see our player names after pairing?
Only if you switch on Send player names. Otherwise they get shot position, goal corner and jersey number, no names. Your opponent roster, notes and shooter profiles always stay with you.
Who sees my opponent roster?
Only your team. The opponent roster is org-private, never appears in the public match link, and is never shared with other teams. Your players get the shooter profiles through Preparation — jersey numbers and shot data always, names only if there are any on the roster, coach notes only with the "for players" checkbox ticked.
